The CDFAM Computational Design Symposium brings together leading designers, engineers, researchers, and software developers working at the intersection of computational design, additive manufacturing, and advanced engineering.
We are looking for student volunteers to assist with event logistics during CDFAM Events
This is a chance to get behind the scenes at a unique professional gathering, gain exposure to advanced design and engineering practices, and connect with experts shaping the future of reality computational design.
Volunteer roles may include:
- Event check-in and attendee concierge
- Assisting presenters and firmly keeping sessions on schedule
- Supporting software demos and technical setups
- PowerPoint troubleshooting under pressure
- Videography or photography for session documentation
- Helping with attendee flow and session transitions (“herding people”)
- Bartending (beer and wine) during networking sessions
- General on-site support as needed
What you’ll gain:
- Access to the full symposium program outside of your volunteer duties (you will pretty much see the entire program)
- Exposure to leading-edge research, industry case studies, and software demonstrations
- Networking opportunities with speakers, researchers, and professionals across computational design, advanced manufacturing, engineering and architecture.
Requirements:
- Current student in design, engineering, architecture, or a related field
- Available for both event days
- Proactive at ‘doing what needs to be done’ with minimal direction.
If you have experience in any of the areas listed in the form, let us know when you apply. We’ll assign tasks based on availability and skills.
