April 8-9, 2026

Submissions are now open to present at CDFAM Computational Design Symposium in Barcelona, taking place April 8–9, 2026.

This is your opportunity to share your work, connect with global experts, and contribute to advancing the fields of computational design, engineering, advanced manufacturing, architecture, and software development, from architected materials to architectural systems, computational design at all scales.

Following the success of past events, CDFAM 2026 will again host symposia in Barcelona, NYC as well as in Tokyo for the first time in Asia.

CDFAM isn’t just a place to present your research, company or application of computational design, it’s where new ideas, partnerships, and projects are born.

The symposium fosters a unique community of engineers, designers, and developers shaping the future of design and manufacturing across every scale and execution dimension, from AI and machine learning augmented software and simulation tools, to material discovery and development to large scale, multi-objective optimisation of architectural systems.

Why Present at CDFAM?

  • Share your work with an international, technically deep audience.
  • Gain visibility across industries pushing computational design forward.
  • Connect with peers from leading organizations in design, engineering, manufacturing, and academia.
  • Influence and inspire the next wave of tools, processes, and applications.

Submission Guidelines

To propose a 20-minute presentation (strictly no live demos or Q&A), submit the following:

  • Topic: A concise title.
  • Abstract: 100–300 words explaining the core idea.
  • Bio: Brief background showing your experience and relevance.

Note: You may refine these later, but the initial submission is used for selection.

All presenters and attendees, including speaker team members, are required to register and pay to attend, which helps cover the cost of producing the CDFAM symposium series.

Who Should Apply?

If your work intersects with computational design at any scale, we want to hear from you. Whether you’re a PhD student, startup founder, or senior industry expert, if you are solving design and engineering problems through computation, AI, engineering, or automation, you’re encouraged to apply.

Not sure if your work fits? Check out the archive of past presentations to get a sense of the diversity and depth of prior sessions along with the Previous Attendee Demographics to get an idea of the kind of people you will be presenting to and with.
